I don’t know if it was the chipping brick building, the vintage film camera, or the pink sun setting over the lake – but something had me feeling straight out of a Bryan Adams’ music video.
I’ve always been more of a lake girl over an ocean lover. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that I’ve grown up spending every summer at our cottage in Northern Wisconsin since birth, or the fact that we live minutes away from a lake front – but either way, spending time at the lake is something I hold very near and dear to my heart.
Fun Fact: Fourth of July is my third favorite holiday (and, yes, I do in fact have my favorite holidays ranked in order)! There’s something about celebrating this wonderful country surrounded by loved ones that I just adore. This is a holiday worthy of reflection, and also celebration. Which is why a few bottles of champagne are always in order!
This Sunday, we’re packing up and heading down south – far south! I am so excited to be spending our break in Cancun this year. As I was putting my suitcase together, I began to see a bit of a theme emerge in my color scheme. Somehow, despite my best efforts otherwise, I always wind up with blue and white, blue and white, & blue and white. What’s a girl to do?
With spring break right around the corner, I’ve found it extremely difficult to focus on just about anything but vacation. This year, we’re headed to Cancun, and I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve never been there before, but I am extremely eager to explore new territory. Until then, however, I find myself in a daydream – ceaselessly filling shopping carts with swimwear and beach attire. . .
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: there is no meal in this life better than brunch. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that you can simultaneously drink coffee, mimosas, and wine all before 2 p.m., or if it’s the delicately handcrafted breakfast foods. What I do know, however, is that if brunch isn’t a part of your weekly routine, you ought to pencil it in!
