If you’re a student like me, you’re most likely experiencing the post Christmas break blue. This past weekend, you probably packed up your things from home, and moved back to school. You’re first day might have entailed ice skating through a frozen campus to get to your classes, all the while praying you didn’t slip, fall, and ruin your new (fill in the blank) that you just got for Christmas.
I never used to be one much for new year’s resolutions. In fact, last year was the first time that I had really ever put an actual resolution into practice. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my resolution had in fact encouraged me throughout the year, and gave me the motivation to follow through.
I’ve decided that I want to continue the resolution movement and set a few more for myself this year. Here are my new year’s resolutions for 2018!
Julia Engel, one of my favorite bloggers and the creator of Gal Meets Glam, threw together 6 Ideas for Reflecting on a Full Year. The post is filled with wonderful ways to look back on 2017 and celebrate your accomplishments, as well as recognize your blessings.
One of my favorite suggestions from the post was to scroll through your phone or computer and pick out the top five moments/pictures from the year. As someone who really loves taking pictures, this one in particular caught my attention.
I absolutely love this time of year. Between the holidays, family gatherings, and the new year, there are so many excuses to get dolled up and pull out those festive outfits that we only get to wear once in a great while. It’s time to welcome 2018 with our best dancing shoes, sparkly dresses, and brimming flutes of champagne.
Here’s my guide to the best NYE looks and ensembles!
Maybe it’s just me, but wrapping up the Christmas season is always a little bitter sweet. In the blink of an eye, all the festive music, tree decorating, cookie baking, and champagne toasting seems to come to a close.
Do ivy covered walls give anyone else chills, or is it just me?
My sister McCaela and her husband Nick just recently bought their first home together. What the place may lack in size it makes up for in character! From its original wood floors to its old fashioned door bell that sings to you, its a real charm. The two love entertaining, so naturally they hosted their first ever Christmas party as a couple.
This past Fall break, we took a trip to Presque Isle, Wisconsin. We have a cottage in northern Wisconsin, so I’ve been traveling up this way every summer since I was born. However, I have never been up here in the Fall. Suffice it to say, I absolutely fell in love in a whole new way!
We’ve officially had our first snow fall. . . Let the frolicking begin!
As the weather gets colder, I slowly shift into “my element.” The second the temperature falls below 50°, I dance to the top shelf of my closet and pull down my abundance of winter sweaters, boots, and everyday essentials. These are a few of my tried and true items – the ones that you won’t catch me dead without at least one of them on.
You might as well wrap these pieces in brown paper packaging tied up with string, because these are a few of my very favorite things.
